Greenfield ministry offers mental health care and support to community – WTHR

GREENFIELD, Ind. (WTHR) – A new ministry in Greenfield offers mental health care and support to anyone in the community.

Staff and volunteers celebrated the public launch of the Wellspring Center Friday afternoon with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house.

The mental health program is part of Brandywine Community Church, using remodeled space just off the main lobby. The Wellspring Center and Mental Health Program offers coaches and peer groups for people struggling with depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, OCD, anxiety, addiction and suicide.

“Most people when they reach out for help for mental health, they will contact the church,” said Wellspring Center Director Gina Colclazier. “So, once we began to look at it, pray about it and look at the resources out there – we realized that we could not not do anything.”

The Wellspring Center also includes a food pantry. The church has trained 70 volunteers and two staff to support the holistic approach to mental, emotional, spiritual and relational recovery.

The Wellspring Center does not provide clinical, therapeutic or psychological treatment, but provides referrals to community partners.
